Portfolio Submission Requirements

Each student is required to submit a portfolio. There are two ways to submit the portfolio:1) in paper, submitting all required documents to Lee High School. 2) digital format [.pdf .jpeg .doc .docx etc.] that is submitted online following the directions on this page.

Each student portfolio must include the following:

  1. Title page – personal information (name, date of birth, address, background) and a statement attesting that the artifact submitted is your original work, not copyrighted, and nor completed by a professional
  2. One letter of recommendation (teacher, mentor or school administrator)

The student portfolio can include any two related themes listed below to reflect either the visual performing arts, engineering or digital design pathway: 

  1. Graphic Illustrations-charts, concept diagrams, timelines
  2. Video or audio recordings
  3. Creative writing such as stories, poems, songs and scripts
  4. Artwork, including sketches
  5. Digital/standard photography
  6. A functional computer program
  7. Collages
  8. Pamphlets, posters, or brochures
  9. Flyer/advertisements, posters
  10. Catalogs
  11. Animations
  12. 2-D or 3-D designs or objects
  13. Logos
  14. Web designs/Web pages
  15. Architectural design
  16. Engineering drawings or designs
  17. Photographs of things you have helped to design and build
  18. Interpretation of interesting measurements and data
  19. Drawings and other visual representations of your work
  20. Excerpts from a design log
  21. An invention
  22. Improvement on a current design or invention
  23. Robotics demonstration
  24. Ideas for future work you may want to do for independent study

Guidelines: Artifacts must meet the following criteria in order to be accepted and reviewed by the committee:

  1. Original and created by the applicant
  2. Not copyrighted or trademarked
  3. In a standard format, i.e., copies of pictures should not be larger than 11×14, videos should only be in popular, standard formats ( e.g., mpeg, .mov, etc.)

The following types of artifacts will not be accepted:

  1. Instagram® photos
  2. Facebook® posting
  3. Works copied and/or modified from the Internet
  4. Vulgar or inappropriate materials
  5. T-shirts

Please do not submit artifacts that you want returned. However, copies of pictures and/or printed designs are permissible.
